I’m very happy to announce the date of my upcoming masterclass –
Creativity Beyond the Camera.
The masterclass will take place on Sunday the 14th of January 2018 and will be strictly limited to just 25 people to ensure plenty of space and time to really deepen into our creative photography path. The event will run at the David Lloyd Club in Chorley, just 2 minutes from junction 8 on the M61 and will commence at 9:30am.
I’m pleased to have secured this venue as the conference room is spacious and comfortable, perfect for our image based workshop where I’ll be using a high definition projector to present the programme. Lunch will be a heartwarming hot meal and there’ll be hot drinks available of course.
Creativity and Inspiration
The programme will cover numerous aspects of creativity and inspiration rather than the nuts and bolts of the usual technical shooting processes. We’ll explore composition and light play, but not from the usual angle of course! Storytelling, finding our message, connecting deeply with our subjects and realising our creative dreams and intentions will be the order of the day.
Too, I’ll be sharing with you the practice of ‘standing on the shoulders of giants’ as we uncover our own style, our own voice and our own interpretation of the world around us.
During the 90 minute lunch break I’ll be holding a portfolio review session during which I’ll offer an honest appraisal of your work, whether this be prints or digital images brought on a tablet or a laptop.
Realising our vision through intuitive image processing
I’ll also be giving you the inside track on my favourite Lightroom and Photoshop techniques, from conception through to final print or book. Bringing our creative musings to fruition is an important part of our work and I will explain my particular processes which have taken me many years to develop and perfect.
Special Outland show in the evening
The masterclass will come to a close at 4:30pm however our day need not end there. During the evening, from 7pm I’m hosting a special presentation of the images taken during my extensive Outland project which saw me visiting every mile of the northwest coast of England. I’ll share my stories, videos and images of the 16 month foray and have prints to view. Maybe a book too!
There’s a Premier Inn next door to the venue, gorgeous food at both the David Lloyd Club and the neighbouring Malt House pub and the wild winter countryside of Anglezarke mere minutes away.
Tickets for the special day-long masterclass are just £107. Click here to secure your place now.
